I still remember the day you came home chattering about playing as a girl, so darned excited you were doing twirls with laughter that touched me down to the bone. I circle this maze chased by endless ghosts swallowing Ariadne’s pearls for strength -my trial of labyrinthian length too scared to face my old Minotaur host. Now Blue Oyster Cult is stuck in my head, the reaper is Theseus, my rescue, for when sweet death reunites me with you I hear what the video game has said, “A story long past history’s borders eats this sacrifice of silver quarters.”
